The Mama Mellace Story

The Mama Cares Foundation is the non-profit extension of Mellace Family Brands, a manufacturer and marketer of diverse product lines that include Kosher tree nuts, peanuts, snack mixes, and chocolate items.

Mama Mellace's passion for natural and wholesome food began with the generosity of Raffalina Mellace (pronounced Mel-AH-chee…people have been mispronouncing it since she arrived in the United States in 1962 from Calabria, Italy) who never stopped inviting people into her home for delicious meals made with the very best ingredients.

Mama's youngest son Mike brought these same values of quality, nutrition, and generosity with him when he founded Mama Mellace's in 2001, and today Mama Mellace's is synonymous with simple, homemade goodness. We make "uncomplicated snacks, simply better."

Mike was inspired both by Mama's generosity and his Christian faith to create The Mama Cares Foundation. Two percent of every Mama Mellace's product sold goes directly to the foundation.
